As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

A Masjid is a type of Waqf. For a property to be designated as a Masjid, it must be designated as Waqf and it should be used by worshippers. Additionally, the legal status of the building should support the Masjid to be a Waqf.
