As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Yes, ownership of an asset is lost when it is made into a Waqf. As a result, one cannot do what he wants with a Waqf asset. The Waqf asset will be subject to all the stipulations in the Waqf deed at the time of executing the Waqf.
