Waqf Register
Waqf Register
We have established a Waqf Register to log, track and begin to connect Waqf.

What is the Waqf Register
The institution of Waqf reached its peak during the Ottoman period. The Ottomans were renowned for the efficiency of their administration of Waqf and one of the key factors in this was the use of the Diwan, or register. The Ottoman practice of creating Diwans has always been a feature of Muslim lands and the Ottomans held Diwans for many aspects of the administration, including the Awqaf of the empire. We believe this approach of systematically recording all Waqf is key to re-establish Waqf in the hearts and minds of Muslims. A public record of Waqf brings with it also accountability and transparency.
How will the Register be used?
The Waqf Register, will show all the Waqf currently registered with iWaqf. Any information which is sensitive or could lead to the identification of the individual has been removed. A more detailed Waqf Register which contains all the information of the Waqf, along with links to the original Waqf documentation is held by iWaqf, should this be required by the Waqif (person creating the Waqf) and Trustees in future.
As the number of registered Awqaf grows, we believe the Waqf Register will be vital in beginning to connect Waqf with appropriate causes and as a source of data for monitoring the impact of Waqf.
